Writing great help articles
Structure, voice and formatting that help both customers and the AI.
Writing great help articles
Great articles serve two readers: the customer and the AI. The same habits help both.
One job per article
Each article should answer one question. If you're tempted to write "and also…", that's a second article. Narrow articles retrieve better.
Lead with the answer
Put the solution in the first paragraph. Customers (and the AI) shouldn't have to scroll to find it.
Use headings and steps
Break content into <h2> sections and numbered steps. The AI chunks on headings, so good headings literally improve retrieval accuracy.
Write the title like a question
"How do I change my plan?" beats "Plan management." Match the words customers actually use.
Keep it current
Outdated articles produce confidently wrong AI answers. Review high-traffic articles regularly and prune duplicates.
